While associating service by proximity to the customer address is good, and associating lift-arm telemetry to the customer address is better, reading RFID-enabled containers and associating them with their owner is best. RFID is the ideal method to provide accurate proof-of-service by time, location, container, and customer.
- Improve collections
- Reduce costs
- Record customer participation
The Air-Trak RFID solution enables real-time asset management for every container by geographic location and time of service. The solution consists of a Customer Tag Inventory System and in-vehicle RFID Capture System.
The Customer Tag Inventory System provides a simple way to enter containers into the inventory database for deployed and undeployed containers. Air-Trak provides a hand-held scanner to scan containers by type, size, color, and location into the inventory database. When the containers are delivered to the customer, the service event is recorded by time and location and associating that container to the specific customer.
Air-Trak installs a rugged RFID reader on the service vehicle and RFID tags are installed on containers. The RFID tags are simple to install on residential containers and commercial bins. Rehrig offers containers with RFID tags embedded from the factory which are compatible with Air-Trak’s RFID system.
Regular service delivery can now record proof of service by customer, container, location, and time stamp. The system reconciles service events to the inventory database and confirms correct service or initiates alerts for exceptions such as; wrong cart at the service location, missing cart, or multiple pickups of same cart. The system provides exception reporting and an application programming interface for integration to existing software for billing and other services.
