The SatCom Upgrade automatically uses the most cost-effective hybrid of cellular and satellite networks. An upgrade to the Nextel® Phone from Sprint®and Air-Trak® In-Vehicle platforms, the SatCom Upgrade module combines the security of seamless satellite coverage with the affordability of cellular coverage. Only when cellular coverage is unavailable does the Air-Trak system automatically redirect communications to the satellite network.

Exceptionally reliable - everywhere

The SatCom Upgrade utilizes a geostationary communications satellite to deliver communications with the highest level of availability in the industry. An omni-directional, solid-state satellite antenna with no motor or moving parts provides long-lasting, reliable coverage. The module's onboard intelligence automatically transmits data at engine shut-off, turns itself off to curb costs, and resumes power when movement or engine operation is detected.
